Moving Quickly
It’s been a busy two weeks here at Arsenal headquarters.
Growing the Team
We’ve been working really hard the last few weeks putting everything into motion to ship a great product. First, I’m really excited to announce that we have hired two more developers to help with the software and machine learning side of things.
Meet Corey
Corey has over 8 years of experience as a user experience designer and full-stack software engineer. He has a passion for creating user interfaces that are simple to use and easy to code. In the past, he has co-founded multiple start-ups and more recently led a team of over 20 designers and developers as Vice President of Engineering at a major digital photo storage and printing company.
Corey and I worked together on two previous startups. Corey will be taking over the lead on design/UI and will also be working on the iOS and Android apps.
Meet Ben
Ben hails from the midwest, where he spent his childhood making action/adventure movies in the rural countryside. As a musician and AV geek, he's used a wide gamut of gear made for artists. Ben has over a decade of experience as a programmer and designer. He will be taking the lead on the code that runs on the Arsenal hardware.
Field Testing
Next week, some of the Arsenal team will be starting a new round of field testing on the current hardware. We’ll be posting photos in our updates and on our Facebook/Instagram as we go. We will also be adding a gallery to the site with photos taken on the latest version of the software.
UI/Software
Corey’s first task is to do a UI overhaul. This will involve changing around the app to help improve usability and improve the design aesthetic. The current app works, but we think there’s a lot of room to improve the experience over the next few weeks. We will be posting some updated screen designs as we go.
PCB/Board
Progress on the board is going well. We’re working with suppliers to queue up some of our harder to get parts for our final production run. We’ll be starting a run for our early testers in the next few weeks. It looks like we’ll be able to incorporate a few of the small design changes that came up during the campaign. The big one being the ability to start handheld mode without your phone.
Again, Thank You! We couldn't have gotten to where we are today without your support. So again we say, Thank You!
Stay tuned for more updates.
Until next time,
– Ryan and the Arsenal Team
